Accomplished and wimpy
I'm feeling accomplished, and also wimpy. I changed the flapper on the toilet mechanism all by myself! It had clear directions and was simply "remove old one and clip on new one; adjust the chain length", but still... it involved putting flapper on the want list, remembering to take the want list to the store, remembering to look at the want list at the store, walking a quarter mile across Walmart, choosing a mid-to-low price flapper that looks like it would fit, driving home, getting up my nerve, taking off the old flapper, throwing it away, putting on the new flapper after reading the directions, hooking up the chain, flushing once, readjusting the chain length, and flushing again, plus throwing out the wrapper and directions. It was a lot!!!
I also read about a lady Englishwoman traveling alone on horseback across Colorado in 1873, up and down mountain trails in November, falling through the ice at a ford and getting her feet frozen to the stirrups, then thawing her feet in excruciating pain with no pain reliever. Yeah, I'm a wimp. And also accomplished. BOTH!
